CAMERA SHOTS

Homework due in on the 6TH NOVEMBER

Over the holidays I want you to learn about the different camera movements, angles and psoitions. You can view the links to update yourselves. and the do an analysis.

What I'd like you to do for homework is to compare the camera work used to film 'HOLBY ep.2' BBC with that used for 'BLEAK HOUSE' BBC. What type of shots does each use and how does it affect the way in which you 'read' the characters and settings represented. You can do an in depth study of one scene form each as well as a general assessment of the difference in camera techniques used throughout in each episode.

We have also discussed mise-en-scene as well as editing and less so sound. I would be most impressed if you were able to compare the way those technical areas are used in each episode.
I'm looking for a good body of work from you all. It can be fun identifying shots used editing techniques etc and once you do you begin to see differences because you understand what the programmes are trying to do to you (make you sad, impressed, excited, dislike and hate certain people love other types, want someone to succeed etc.)

For more information on shots check out this youtube video

This is a very good example of cross cutting
